Hello Black Coffee Family!

The Equinox has just passed, and Fall is rising quickly. The Equinox seemed an especially potent day for our collective, as it is the Sun & Moon’s dance of equality, fairness, & balance. We took the day to close early, to reflect upon the project - and of course to give the cafe a good deep cleaning for the new season.Starting this Fall, we’ll be sending out monthly emails like this one to keep folks updated on the next months worth of events. Remember, there are always new events getting scheduled so the Event Calendar & our Facebook or Twitter are the best ways to keep up with day-to-day happenings.

What’s Brewing with Black Coffee?

• Magic Tournament Tonight!!! Starting at 6:45pm, “Black Magic” is a standard rules tournament, $3 buy-in, with prizes galore!

• Presenting the very first “Make it Market” - We will be having a fair @ Black Coffee where artisans can vend their handmade wares, & the rest of us can score some handmade loot!

• We’ll be handing out coupons at Seattle Central & Seattle U, so if you’re a student keep an eye out for us!

• Happy Hour?! We’ve changed our happy hour up a bit -> its now 8pm-Midnight every night. Microbrews & Hard Ciders are all $3, and pastries are $.50 off.

• We’ve got new goodies! Organic, Fairly Traded Coffee from Equal Exchange for a darker roast option. We’ve also got Organic, Raw, Fairly Traded Almonds from Equal Exchange. We switched to a ridiculously tasty organic, vegan chocolate sauce from Portland’s Holy Kakow. Finally, we’re now carrying Wayward’s delicious quinoa wrap - a soy-free vegan option.

• New Monthly Event - “Church!” - On the 2nd Sunday of every month we’re now holding an All Ages Hip Hop night - the debut event was absolutely stellar next one is October

• Black Coffee Barista Classes - Would you like to gain basic or intermediate knowledge & skills about coffee & espresso? Whether for work or pleasure, Black Coffee’s classes are the most accessible trainings out there. The trainings are designed to teach you practical skills, and to be exciting & informative.
